0007: Bad Rain
Bad Rain
And the rain washed everything away to its smallest features. Tobias was glad for the new environmental suit, and the umbrella. They even self cleaned after all the punishment they recieved, and with the amount of time he could walk outside he could even risk sitting by the lake on the way to the safe zone and watch the city in the distance.
He wasn't trying to be a poet when he appreciated how beautiful it all looked.
They assured him in the adverts that in 500 years the colony would make contact with Mother Earth again and humanity would rise on this new planet, turn it into a mirror of Earth, into another blue pearl.
But he didn't feel any particular nostalgia or wish for that. He had his family and friends, and sure the rain could melt your skin and every day was a struggle, but he liked this planet very much.
His suit beeped with a 20 minute warning, and Tobias smiled to himself.
He skipped over the skeletons of the unlucky few who'd forgotten to double check their suits, and wondered if he'd win today at Simulchess.
